Terms of Use
These terms govern use of the PlateLingo mobile app and translation service.
1. Service
PlateLingo provides camera and photo OCR, menu-text translation, optional price conversion, local caching, and related travel assistance. Translation, OCR, price recognition, and exchange rates may contain errors. Confirm menu ingredients, allergens, prices, and payment amounts with the restaurant.
2. Accounts
Apple or Google sign-in is required before translation. You are responsible for protecting your provider account and device. Do not automate, resell, reverse engineer, overload, or use the service unlawfully. You may delete your independent PlateLingo account in Settings.
3. Free uses and lifetime purchase
Each eligible account receives three successful full-page translations. Failed jobs, cached results, and retries do not intentionally consume a use. After the free uses, translation requires the non-consumable lifetime product displayed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Local price and currency presentation follows the store. Purchases, refunds, family sharing, and store-account eligibility are governed by the applicable store.
4. Fair use and availability
Lifetime access has no normal-use translation quota, but reasonable concurrency, request-size, and rate controls apply to protect all users. We may temporarily restrict abusive, automated, unlawful, or security-threatening activity. Internet access, a supported device, model availability, and the translation service are required for server translation.
5. Privacy and content
Images remain on-device. OCR text is transmitted for translation as explained in the Privacy Policy. You retain rights in your content and grant us only the limited permission needed to process a requested translation. Do not process content you are not authorized to use.
6. Rates and safety
Exchange rates and converted prices are reference information, not banking, payment, tax, legal, medical, or financial advice. The app must not be your sole source for allergens, dietary restrictions, food safety, emergencies, or high-value decisions.
7. Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that translations, OCR, prices, currencies, rates, or layouts are always accurate or complete. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes and contact
We may update the app, service, or these terms. Material changes will be published with a revised effective date. Questions: 330182696@qq.com.
