Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Currency Lens mobile app and website.
Currency Lens provides reference calculations and recognition assistance. It does not provide banking, payment, investment, tax, accounting, or financial advice.
1. Agreement and store terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Currency Lens, you agree to these Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Your use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple’s applicable App Store terms and, unless a different valid agreement is presented in the store listing, the Apple Standard EULA. Android use is also subject to applicable Google Play terms. Mandatory consumer rights in your country or region are not excluded.
2. The service
Currency Lens provides multi-currency reference conversion, locally stored exchange records, manual exchange rates calculated from those records, offline rate caching, currency information, and optional camera-based price recognition and conversion. Features may vary by platform, device capability, store availability, language, and region.
3. Limited license and acceptable use
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use Currency Lens on devices you own or control, subject to applicable store rules.
You must not:
- use the service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to infringe another person’s rights;
- attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or technical protections;
- interfere with the app, website, providers, or other users;
- reverse engineer, redistribute, resell, or commercially exploit the service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use automated requests in a way that disrupts exchange-rate or hosting providers.
4. Exchange rates and calculations
Exchange rates are obtained from third-party sources and may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or different from rates used by banks, card issuers, payment networks, governments, or exchange providers. Calculations can also be affected by rounding, fees, spreads, taxes, and user input.
Always confirm the final rate, fee, and amount with the provider completing a real transaction. You are responsible for decisions made using the displayed information.
5. Camera recognition
Camera recognition is an assistive feature and may misread digits, decimal separators, currency symbols, discounts, grouped prices, or nearby text. Lighting, angle, motion, print style, device hardware, and language can affect results. Check the recognized amount and selected currencies before relying on a conversion.
Do not use Currency Lens as the sole source for emergency, safety-critical, legal, tax, or high-value financial decisions.
6. Local records and backups
Exchange records, notes, settings, and cached data are generally stored on your device. Currency Lens does not provide a developer account or guaranteed cross-device record sync. You are responsible for protecting your device and managing any operating-system backup.
Uninstalling the app, clearing app data, device failure, backup settings, or operating-system behavior may remove local records.
7. Current feature access
Rates and exchange logs are available without charge. Camera-based AR price conversion requires a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that grants lifetime access for the applicable store account. There is no subscription. Purchases and restores are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and remain subject to the store’s terms, refund rules, territory availability, and account requirements.
8. Third-party services
Currency Lens depends on third-party exchange-rate sources, content delivery networks, app stores, local recognition SDKs, operating-system services, website hosting, and email. Their services may change, fail, or become unavailable and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and do not mean we control or endorse all content on those sites.
9. Intellectual property
The Currency Lens software, original interface, branding, text, and website design are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Third-party names, currency designs, images, data, libraries, and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners and may be subject to separate rules.
These terms do not grant permission to extract, republish, or commercially reuse third-party currency imagery or datasets displayed by the service.
10. Availability, updates, and changes
We may maintain, update, improve, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, provider changes, or product operation. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or support for every device, currency, country, region, or operating-system version.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Currency Lens is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees that rates, recognition, calculations, images, or availability will always be accurate, current, complete, or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, the Developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from reliance on reference rates or recognition results, loss of local records, third-party service failure, or unauthorized device or store-account access. Nothing in these terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Currency Lens at any time. We may restrict service access when reasonably necessary to prevent unlawful activity, abuse, security threats, or material violation of these terms.
13. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue. Nothing here removes a right to use a court, regulator, or alternative dispute process available under mandatory law.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the service, providers, stores, or law. We will update the effective date and publish material changes on this page and, where appropriate, in the app.
